WELCOME TO THE COGNITIVE SIMULATOR
AI & Cognitive Capacity Alignment Simulator (LAE-SDI v1.0)
Instructions & Explanation
How to Use This Simulator: Use the control sliders below to model how task demands, rest, skills, and AI review workloads impact your team’s capacity and output over a 60-day horizon.
- Task Velocity / Load ($D$): The incoming volume and rate of task demands.
- Recovery / Rest ($R$): System/team time dedicated to recovery and stress relief.
- Skill Integration ($I$): Procedural efficiency and skill mastery.
- Max Compensatory Reserve ($A_{max}$): The maximum extra effort, overtime, or stress output possible before exhaustion.
- AI Verification Burden ($\alpha$): Cognitive overhead required to inspect, prompt, and verify AI outputs.
- Target Performance Output ($P^*$): The baseline performance expected from the system.
How to Interpret Results:
- Structural Drift Index (SDI): Measures system equilibrium.
- Values below 1.0 indicate a sustainable state (STABLE).
- Values between 1.0 and 1.5 show hidden strain masked by overtime (DRIFT DETECTED).
- Values above 1.5 signal impending failure (CRITICAL DRIFT).
- The Chart: Observe Observed Performance (Green) versus Latent Capacity (Blue). You will see how extra effort (Dashed Orange) maintains steady performance even as capacity drops, until capacity reaches the Critical Threshold (Red) and performance collapses.

Capacity dynamics
dC/dt = β·R + I − γ·D, with C(t) clamped to [0, C0]Structural Drift Index
SDI = (γ·D) / (β·R + I)Compensatory reserve
A(t) = min(Amax, max(0, P* − φC))Capacity-adjusted output
φC = (C(t) / C0) · P*Exhaustion boundary
Ccrit = C0 · max(0, 1 − Amax / P*)
Model normalization
β = 1.0 | γ = 1.2·α | C0 = 100 | horizon = 60 time units.
All variables are normalized model indices. The parameter α modifies the modeled depletion coefficient through the illustrative relationship γ = 1.2·α.

Model scope:
This simulator is an illustrative system-dynamics implementation of the LAE-SDI framework.
It is not a clinical diagnostic tool, cognitive assessment instrument, medical prediction system,
or empirical validation of the parameterization. Numerical outputs should be read as model behavior
under the selected assumptions, not as measurements of an individual or organization.
